Top 10 Richest CMs In India
1. Nara Chandrababu Naidu
Nara Chandrababu Naidu is hands-down the richest of all Chief Ministers. This man leads other Chief Ministers with a significant margin, and his wealth is not a thing to be underestimated.
The 69-year-old man was born in April 1950, into an agricultural family. Even though his father was just a mere farmer, Nara Chandrababu Naidu was able to rise to become a very successful man. The man has received a lot of honours and awards. And not only that, he also happens to have made a lot of history in Indian politics. For example, Nara Chandrababu Naidu is claimed to be the longest-serving CM, for the combined state of Andhra Pradesh.
2. Pema Khandu
Pema Khandu is not as wealthy as Nara Chandrababu Naidu, but this man has also got a very serious amount of wealth. The margin between his wealth and that of Amarinder Singh (the man who occupies the third position), happens to be very significant.
Pema Khandu started his political career at a relatively young age. The man who currently happens to be about 40 years, stands the chance of becoming one of the richest Chief Ministers of all time. Even though he’s about 30 younger than Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Pema Khandu has been able to build wealth close to that of Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
3. Amarinder Singh
Amarinder Singh is one of the oldest Chief Ministers in India. And he also happens to be one of the oldest. This 77-year-old man has been a Chief Minister since 2002, and he’s still serving his country to date. People like Amarinder Singh have made a lot of contributions to their country, another way of saying he’s one of those Chief Ministers who deserve the utmost respect.
Aside from being a Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh also happens to have authored some very interesting books. And these books in question are namely: A Ridge Too Far, Lest We Forget, The Last Sunset: Rise and Fall of Lahore Durbar, and The Sikhs in Britain: 150 years of Photographs.
4. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao
Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao is another very rich Chief Minister, although he is far from being as rich as the first three richest CMs in India. This man is a 66-year-old man, and he has been involved in 14 elections. Of all the 14 elections he has participated in, he has only lost one, and that happens to be his first election when he contested against Ananthula Madan Mohan.
And even though Ananthula Madan Mohan defeated him in the 1983 election, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao was able to defeat Ananthula Madan Mohan in the 1989 and the 1994 elections. In other words, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao is also a great politician.
5. Mukul Sangma
Mukul Sangma occupies the 5th position, on our list of the top 10 richest CMs in India. This 54-year-old man has been in politics since 1993, and he’s not a man to be underestimated.
Mukul Sangma has not only served as a Chief Minister, but the man also happens to have served as a Deputy Chief Minister.
6. Siddaramaiah
Siddaramaiah is a pretty popular man, and we guess a lot of people wouldn’t be so surprised, to find out this man is one of the richest in the country. He is about 71 years of age, and he has been in politics since the 1990s.
While many people know Siddaramaiah to be a politician, the man also happens to be a law graduate. Political positions this man has held, include Member Congress, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Minister for Finance, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Minister for Sericulture and Animal Husbandry, Minister for Transport, and Minister for Higher Education.
7. Naveen Patnaik
Naveen Patnaik is another of the oldest Chief Ministers in this country. The man was born in 1946, making him about 73 years of age. And aside from being a great man, he has also won a good number of awards.
Naveen Patnaik is furthermore a writer, with some of his books being: A Second Paradise: Indian Courtly Life 1590–1947, A Desert Kingdom: The People of Bikaner, and The Garden of Life: An Introduction to the Healing Plants of India.
8. Pawan Kumar Chamling
Pawan Kumar Chamling is also a man a lot of Indians know, and this man happens to be one of the longest-serving Chief Ministers in the country. The 70-year-old man has participated in 11 Sikkim Legislative Assembly elections, and he won all of these elections.
While Pawan Kumar Chamling may not be as rich as those occupying the first three positions, he’s a very powerful politician. And he’s not a Chief Minister to be underestimated.
9. Velu Narayanasamy
Velu Narayanasamy who is also known as V. Narayanasamy, is another very rich Chief Minister. The man is a 72-year-old politician who has enjoyed a lot of political successes. Velu Narayanasamy may not talk as much as some other Chief Ministers in this article, but he’s a very great man.
10. Lal Thanhawla
Of all Chief Ministers in this content, Lal Thanhawla is the oldest. The CM was born in May of 1942, although he’s not currently a Chief Minister. The 77-year-old man is known to be a great lover of sports. He happens to be the Founder President of Mizoram Football Association, the Founder President of Mizoram Sports Association, the Founder President of Mizoram Hockey Association, and the Founder Secretary of Mizoram Boxing Association.
